What better cause to celebrate a random Tuesday than National Lipstick Day.
I think it should become a national holiday, everyone should have a day off and free lipsticks (preferably Chanel) should be given out.
While the big bods mill over that idea, to celebrate a Debenhams are giving you £5 off any lipstick (T&C’s apply) today, yes that’s right you can bag yourself a MAC lippie for £10.50 ladies.
It would only be fitting that today’s post is lipstick related, so here are my current favourites that I’ve been carrying around with me.
From top to bottom (and left to right on the swatch), I’ve picked Chanel Rouge Allure in La Raffinèe*, Bourjois Rouge Velvet in Ole Flamingo, Revlon Colourburst Matte Balm in Standout and finally, a MAC classic – Rebel.
All of these, I usually and love equally – they’re a mix of budget friendly and high end, but all are brilliant for colour pay off, quality and wearability.

Experimenting with highlighters is pretty new to me, I’ve used a benefit favourite for years now so I thought it was time I branched out.
Having tried liquid previously, I opted for a powder this time and chose MAC’s Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle.
I wanted a subtle, build able product that wouldn’t make my face super shiny looking. This product ticks all those boxes so I’m pretty happy with it. The RRP price is £21.50 which I think could be a little steep…however I think this compact’s going to last a long, long time.
I used my fingers (strangely?) to apply this to my cheeks, under my eyebrows and a bit in my nose and chin as I felt I was able to control the application better. I’m planning on giving the Real Techniques setting brush a try come pay day though.
I like the effect that it gives, it’s a soft candle light-ish glow which doesn’t take over the whole face. I’m looking forward to using this on holiday, I think with a bit of a tan this shade is really going to pop.
It comes in two shades, Gold Deposit and Soft and Gentle. I went for Soft and Gentle as I’m pretty pale so I didn’t want anything too overwhelming.
Overall the powder is great to handle, there’s not very much fall out when applying and the finish is a nice, pretty effect.
Yes, it’s that time of year…thank god!! Everyone seems to be pre-planning for their summer jollies, me included, and the one thing I’ve been lusting after are new bikinis. I don’t think you can ever have enough bikinis, I went to Mexico for two weeks last year and had more bikinis packed than I had outfits.
The extent of my love for the fashionable two piece ensemble stems back to my younger years…my mum lost me in a shopping centre when I was 4 years old, and after a frantic 30 minute search they found me with my nose pressed up against a swimwear shop window admiring all the pretty things.
The high street is a brilliant place at the moment to go snooping for some swimwear, and surprisingly pretty bargain friendly. I’ve found a few I’ve got my eye on…
